Pahalipay donations arrive in San Francisco, Surigao del Norte |
DAVAO CITY- The City Government of Davao has started to ship gift packs donated by Dabawenyos thru the Pahalipay donate button to areas affected by Typhoon Odette.
Pahalipay is an added feature of the Safe Davao QR code that facilitates the distribution of gift packs to residents. And with the clamor of well-meaning residents, the City Government instructed the developers of the system to place a donate button that gives the Pahalipay recipients the option to donate their gift packs to the victims of typhoon Odette.
Since the donate button feature went live on Dec. 25, Pahalipay donations has now reached 89,007 as of Jan. 5, 11 a.m.
According to Davao City Mayor Sara Duterte, the City Government will collate the donated Pahalipay gift packs and by January will deliver these to areas hit by Typhoon Odette.
On December 29, the City Government shipped 10,000 gift packs to Dinagat Island, 10,000 gift packs to Siargao Island, 5,000 gift packs to Cabadbaran City Agusan del Norte. On Dec. 30 a batch of 5,000 gift packs were given to the town of San Francisco, Surigao del Norte. (PIA/RG Alama)
