DAVAO ORIENTAL, Dec. 21 (PIA) -- The Provincial Government of Davao Oriental along with its city and municipal local government units (LGUs) kicked off its second round of the Three-Day National Vaccination Days dubbed as Bayanihan Bakunahan to boost the vaccination rate in their respective LGUs on December 20-22, 2021.
The Department of Health Region XI Regional Director Dr. Anabelle Yumang graced the kick-off of the second round of vaccination in Davao Oriental yesterday in the Municipality of Baganga with Provincial Governor Nelson L. Dayanghirang.
The City of Mati, Municipality of Baganga, and the Municipality of Lupon are the LGUs that joined the second round of Bayanihan Bakunahan on December 21-22, 2021.
The said schedule was finalized after its postponement on December 15-17, 2021 due to Typhoon Rai, locally named Odette.
The provincial government targeted 39,652 vaccinees for the three days which is equivalent to 13,222 every day from all priority groups including minors.
In the Municipality of Baganga, booster shots are already being provided to those residents vaccinated six (6) months now.
Meanwhile, in the Municipality of Lupon, 572 residents were vaccinated for the first dose and 1,180 for the second dose for the first day on December 20, 2021, alone. 350 shots of single-dosage Janssen vaccines were administered on the same day adding to the number of vaccinees with a total of 2,102.

DIGOS CITY, Mar. 31 (PIA) – Commission on Higher Education (CHED) Commissioner Aldrin A. Darilag has formally proclaimed Dr. Augie E. Fuentes as the first president of the Davao del Sur State College (DSSC) in the investiture rites held recently at the Davao del Sur Coliseum in Digos City. Dr. Fuentes has been appointed as DSSC president in 2020, but her appointment was made formal only last March 17 due to the restrictions caused by the COVID-19 pandemic.
