Sto Tomas town hosts Duterte Legacy Caravan


DAVAO DEL NORTE, Nov. 12 (PIA) -- The Municipal Government of Santo Tomas hosted the Duterte Legacy Caravan today in partnership with the national government agencies (NGAs) from the provincial level who presented the legacies of President Rodrigo R. Duterte (PRRD) in their respective offices and brought some of their services to the people of Santo Tomas.

As part of the Duterte Legacy campaign of the Presidential Communications Operations Office (PCOO) which aims to inform people of the banner projects of PRRD, the Municipal Government of Santo Tomas brought the Duterte Legacy Caravan to its people in coordination with the provincial offices of NGAs.

The participating NGAs presented their accomplishments under the term of PRRD, and the residents of Santo Tomas also availed themselves of their services.

Present NGAs were the Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE), the National Food Authority (NFA), the Philippine Statistics Authority (PSA), the National Commission on Indigenous People (NCIP), the Department of Environment and Natural Resources (DENR), the Bureau of Fire Protection (BFP), the Technical Education and Skills Development Authority (TESDA), the Department of Education (DepEd), the Department of Agrarian Reform (DAR), the Social Security System (SSS), the Land Transportation Office (LTO), the Philippine National Police (PNP), the Department of Interior and Local Government (DILG) and the Government Service Insurance System (GSIS).

The TESDA Provincial Director Remegias G. Timonio presented the graduates from Santo Tomas from the several skills training conducted in partnership with the local government. 76 residents also received livelihood kits from TESDA.

Information drives and legal consultations were also provided by NCIP, BFP, GSIS, LTO, SSS, and DAR.

The people also availed of the 50 seedlings and hygiene kits distributed by the DENR, cheaper rice brought by the NFA, and early enrolment of the DepEd.

In his message, Mayor Ernesto T. Evangelista Jr hopes for the next president to continue the Duterte Legacy.

"Hapit naman ang eleksyon, gaampo lang gyud pod ko, kay di man gyud kapare-elect ang presidente sa unom nila ka tuig, gaampo ko nga unta, mabutang nato ang tawo nga mangulo sa Pilipinas nga mapadayon ang Duterte Legacy," (Because the elections are coming, I just pray that the next president will continue the Duterte Legacy because the president could not re-elect himself for another 6 years), his statement reads. (PIA XI Davao del Norte/jmda/Ezri M. DOH XI hires more nurses, doctors

DAVAO CITY, September 6 (PIA) – The Department of Health XI bared its emergency hiring for nurses and doctors following the need to augment the personnel requirement of COVID19 hospitals from all over the region. The head of the DOH XI Epidemiology and Surveillance Unit Dr. Rachel Pasion, in today’s DOH Virtual Presser reported that in Davao City alone combining both the COVID19 hospitals and the private hospitals have utilized 674 COVID19 beds out of the 830 beds or 79.4 utilization rate. This brings the region’s critical care utilization at a high risk level. The Southern Philippine Medical Center, in the past few days, released an advisory informing the public that it has been experiencing an unusually high volume of patients needing admission for COVID19. Mati City releases new tricycle fare guidelines

DAVAO ORIENTAL, Apr. 6 (PIA) -- The City Government of Mati has issued a new set of tricycle fare guidelines due to the increase in gasoline prices over the past weeks.   Under the City Ordinance No. 527 Series of 2022 or the "Ordinance Imposing the Regulation of Fare and Motorized  Tricycle-for-Hire in the City of Mati," the minimum fares are peg on the prevailing fuel prices. If the gasoline prices would hover at P40.00 to P49.99 per liter the minimum fare would be pegged at P9.00. If fuel prices are at P50.00 to P69.99/liter, minimum fare would be at P12.00 The current minimum fare is now P14.00 as the price of gasoline is between P70.00 to P89.99 per liter.   If the gasoline increase would go from P90.00 to P99.00/liter, the minimum fare will be P15.00. The price of gasoline is not the only indicator of the passenger's fare.
