“ All our registration centers in the five provinces in Davao Region are fully operational,” Jayo said.

For the Step 2 PhilSys Registration from July to October 2021, the region has exceeded its target of 1,924,790 by covering 2,032, 859 successful registrations for the month of July. The region also exceeded its target in August by reaching 2,232,717. Although the region has to catch up since actual registration was below target in September with 2,404,006 and 2,551,948 in October.

The PSA XI has opened registration centers in the different malls in Davao City starting October 2021.

“ Our registration in Davao City was suspended for four months since May 2021 as directed by the City LGU because of the high COVID19 cases. However, we resumed last September 28 as Mayor Sara Duterte gave us the go signal. We opened the registration in SM Ecoland last October 4. Other malls also followed catering the Step 2 PhilSys registration,” Jayo added.

Identified malls with PhilSys registration centers are the following: SM Ecoland, SM Lanang Premier, NCCC Buhangin, Robinson’s Abreeza Mall, NCCC Victoria Plaza, Gaisano Mall Bajada, PSA RSSO XI-Center.

Strictly following the guidelines as set by the Interagency Task Force on COVID19, the PSA has limited only 200 registrants per day in every mall registration site.

Jayo asked for the understanding of those who want to do walk-in registration that currently the strategy being followed by the PSA is to accommodate or prioritize first those who have pending appointment slips issued last year.

However, the PSA may accept walk-in registrants if they are done accommodating those individuals with appointment.

The PSA XI PhilSys focal assured residents of Davao City that the office is working on for additional mall-based registration sites to cater more registrants.

“ We have also requested the Central Office to open online registration for Davao City and we’ve been promised that online registration will be fully operational by first week of November,” Jayo said.

As of October 2021, the PSA already accounted 27,083 registrants from Davao City.

Aside from malls as registration centers, the PSA XI has also opened PhilSys registration in some key institutions in Davao City such as the National Bureau of Investigations XI, Civil Service Commission XI, and Damosa Land Inc. (PIA XI/Frances Mae Macapagat)
