6 barangays in DavNor, now drug-free


DAVAO DEL NORTE, Nov. 9 (PIA) -- A total of six (6) barangays in the Municipality of Asuncion in Davao Del Norte are now cleared from drug influence by the Regional Oversight Committee Barangay Drug Clearing Program (ROCBDC) on November 4, 2021. Also, (2) barangays in the Island Garden City of Samal were confirmed as drug-unaffected barangays.


On the deliberation of the application of the barangays for the Barangay Drug Clearing Program on November 4, 2021, held at the Asuncion Sports and Cultural Center, the ROCBDC chaired by Regional Director Aileen T. Lovitos, of the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA) XI, with the partner agencies; Department of Interior and Local Government (DILG) XI, Philippine National Police (PNP) Regional Office XI, Department of Health (DOH) XI, and the local government units, granted the Drug-Cleared status to the six (6) applicant barangays of Asuncion.

The barangays Buan, Napungas, Pamacaun, New Loon, Sta. Filomena and Sonlon successfully complied with the set standards for the drug-cleared barangays stated in the PDEA Memorandum Circular Number 2021-041 and Dangerous Drugs Board Regulation Number 4, Series of 2021.

On the other hand, two barangays in IGACOS also got their confirmation from the ROCBDC as a Drug-Unaffected barangay. These barangays are Kanaan and San Isidro.

Twenty-one (21) more barangays in Davao Del Norte and Davao Oriental retained their Drug-Cleared status after being validated by ROCBDC that same day.

More NPAs surrender in DavNor

DAVAO DEL NORTE, Nov. 23 (PIA) – More than 30 former members of the Communist Party of the Philippines - New People's Army (CPP-NPA) recently surrendered to government troops in the Province of Davao Del Norte with their firearms turned over to the 10th Infantry AGILA Division of  the Philippine Army. Parents urged to register children to Safe Davao QR before vax

DAVAO CITY, February 22—(PIA) A local vaccine czar urged parents to register first their children aged five to eleven to the SAFEDAVAO QR before they can go to vaccine sites for inoculation. Dr. Josephine Villafuerte, Vaccination Cluster head of the city bared the registration to the SAFEDAVAOQR is crucial so that their children will be integrated in the local vaccination system. She said that the vaccination for children now is on its second phase, with three vaccination sites namely San Roque Elementary School in Barrio Obrero, Vicente Hizon Elementary School at Barangay Sasa and the Almendras gym. “Children can be vaccinated on these sites, whether they are walk-ins provided they have registered at the SAFEDAVAOQR,” Villafuerte said.
