Senator Bong Go, DSWD XI distribute relief assistance in Tagum City

DAVAO DEL NORTE, Oct. 15 (PIA) - Senator Christopher Lawrence "Bong" Go visited the City of Tagum yesterday for the release of Aids to Individuals in Crisis Situations (AICS) from the Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) XI.

The 974 beneficiaries were identified by the City Social Welfare and Development Office (CSDWO) including pregnant women, senior citizens, solo parents, and persons with disabilities (PWDs).

City Mayor Allan L. Rellon warmly welcomed Go together with the local officials and some provincial officials by citing the programs and projects of President Rodrigo R. Duterte to the City of Tagum.

Apart from the food and cash assistance, Go also gave 15 mountain bikes, 10 computer tablets, and 10 shoes to selected recipients.

Despite the significant drop of the COVID-19 cases in the country, Go urges the residents of Tagum City to get vaccinated and always follow the health protocols.

On the other hand, as the Senate Health Committee Head, Senator Bong Go enumerated some of his proposed bills in an ambush interview.

Some of the bills he mentioned are Senate Bills No. 2158 or the Center for Disease Control and Prevention Act of 2021; 2155 or the Virology Science and Technology Institute of the Philippines; 1803 or the E-Health System and Services Act of 2020; 1749 or the Comprehensive Renal Replacement Therapy (RRT) for Patients with End-Stage Renal Disease.

Go also mentioned the establishment of mandatory quarantine and evacuation facilities and the Senate Bill No. 1451, also known as the Medical Reserve Corps Act of 2020 where the graduates from medical or allied courses can serve their fellow Filipinos with due compensation even without licenses.

Meanwhile, Go also witnessed the turning over of the P25M check from the Office of President Rodrigo R. Duterte to the Davao Regional Medical Center (DRMC) Medical Center Chief II, Dr. Bryan O. Dalid for the establishment of its own oxygen refilling station.

The project aims to equip the hospital with its own source of oxygen as the COVID-19 still persists.

It can be remembered that on the 3rd quarter of this year, DRMC announced that it has reached its full capacity for the COVID-19 dedicated oxygen supplies. (PIA XI Davao del Norte/jmda/Ezri M. Coda, Jr.)
