Senator Bong Go, DSWD XI distribute relief assistance in Tagum City


DAVAO DEL NORTE, Oct. 15 (PIA) - Senator Christopher Lawrence "Bong" Go visited the City of Tagum yesterday for the release of Aids to Individuals in Crisis Situations (AICS) from the Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) XI.

The 974 beneficiaries were identified by the City Social Welfare and Development Office (CSDWO) including pregnant women, senior citizens, solo parents, and persons with disabilities (PWDs).

City Mayor Allan L. Rellon warmly welcomed Go together with the local officials and some provincial officials by citing the programs and projects of President Rodrigo R. Duterte to the City of Tagum. 

Apart from the food and cash assistance, Go also gave 15 mountain bikes, 10 computer tablets, and 10 shoes to selected recipients. 

Despite the significant drop of the COVID-19 cases in the country, Go urges the residents of Tagum City to get vaccinated and always follow the health protocols.

On the other hand, as the Senate Health Committee Head, Senator Bong Go enumerated some of his proposed bills in an ambush interview.  

Some of the bills he mentioned are Senate Bills No. 2158 or the Center for Disease Control and Prevention Act of 2021; 2155 or the Virology Science and Technology Institute of the Philippines; 1803 or the E-Health System and Services Act of 2020; 1749 or the Comprehensive Renal Replacement Therapy (RRT) for Patients with End-Stage Renal Disease.

Go also mentioned the establishment of mandatory quarantine and evacuation facilities and the Senate Bill No. 1451, also known as the Medical Reserve Corps Act of 2020 where the graduates from medical or allied courses can serve their fellow Filipinos with due compensation even without licenses.

Meanwhile, Go also witnessed the turning over of the P25M check from the Office of President Rodrigo R. Duterte to the Davao Regional Medical Center (DRMC) Medical Center Chief II, Dr. Bryan O. Dalid for the establishment of its own oxygen refilling station.

The project aims to equip the hospital with its own source of oxygen as the COVID-19 still persists.

It can be remembered that on the 3rd quarter of this year, DRMC announced that it has reached its full capacity for the COVID-19 dedicated oxygen supplies. (PIA XI Davao del Norte/jmda/Ezri M. Coda, Jr.)

DOH XI hires more nurses, doctors

DAVAO CITY, September 6 (PIA) – The Department of Health XI bared its emergency hiring for nurses and doctors following the need to augment the personnel requirement of COVID19 hospitals from all over the region. The head of the DOH XI Epidemiology and Surveillance Unit Dr. Rachel Pasion, in today’s DOH Virtual Presser reported that in Davao City alone combining both the COVID19 hospitals and the private hospitals have utilized 674 COVID19 beds out of the 830 beds or 79.4 utilization rate. This brings the region’s critical care utilization at a high risk level. The Southern Philippine Medical Center, in the past few days, released an advisory informing the public that it has been experiencing an unusually high volume of patients needing admission for COVID19. Mati City releases new tricycle fare guidelines

DAVAO ORIENTAL, Apr. 6 (PIA) -- The City Government of Mati has issued a new set of tricycle fare guidelines due to the increase in gasoline prices over the past weeks.   Under the City Ordinance No. 527 Series of 2022 or the "Ordinance Imposing the Regulation of Fare and Motorized  Tricycle-for-Hire in the City of Mati," the minimum fares are peg on the prevailing fuel prices. If the gasoline prices would hover at P40.00 to P49.99 per liter the minimum fare would be pegged at P9.00. If fuel prices are at P50.00 to P69.99/liter, minimum fare would be at P12.00 The current minimum fare is now P14.00 as the price of gasoline is between P70.00 to P89.99 per liter.   If the gasoline increase would go from P90.00 to P99.00/liter, the minimum fare will be P15.00. The price of gasoline is not the only indicator of the passenger's fare.
