Kin of CTG-used IP leader demand elder’s return to community

DAVAO DEL NORTE, 29 Sept (PIA)--- Relatives of Bai Bibyaon Bigkay who has been under the Save our School (SOS) network, yesterday demanded  her return to their community.

In a “live” interview yesterday during the “Laban Kasama ang Bayan” SMNI News, grand daughter

Rurelyn Bay-ao called on front organizations of the  so-called communist terrorist group (CTG) to send back home Bibyaon whom she had witnessed was “used” to generate funding from international communities.

During the same SMNI offsite interview, Bay-ao revealed having gone with SOS and Bibyaon, to Thailand, HongKong and Korea to meet funders.

“Pagkatapos po sila magbigay pera, si Bai Bibyaon ang perma thru thumb mark.  (After they handed money, Bibyaon signed thru thumb-mark), Bay-ao said. “Ayaw na nila, na kung makakauwi si Bai Bibyaon wala na silang instrumento, hindi na sila makapag  propaganda po (They won’t let Bibyaon go home because they would be losing instrument; the can no longer do their propaganda,” she added.

Meanwhile, Bibyaon’s nephew Datu Benito Bigkay denied having been forced by the military to push for the return home of Bibyaon, and admitted that he and the rest of his clan willfully sought the intervention of Talaingod Indigenous People’s Mandatory Representative (IPMR) Bae Pilar Libayao. He  said about six years had passed since the last time he saw Bibyaon.

“Kinasing kasing namo gihimo namo nga magpatabang kay Bae Pilar. (It was our whole-hearted desire to seek assistance of Bae Pilar),” he said.

“Live” in the same interview session, Libayao told her story how she came to respond to calls for help of Bibyaon’s relatives who had wondered why their aunt had not gone home for long a time.

“Gipanawagan nako ang mga NGO’s na dapat unta ibalik na nila si Bibyaon. (I am calling on  the NGOs that they should return Bibyaon),” she said.

Libayao also revealed having known that Bibyaon had been used to raise funds, an act which she wanted to end.

“Ako ng tawo nganong gigamit nila?,”( that is my people why did they used  her) she said.

Libayao also denied issues thrown against Bibyaon’s relatives who allegedly were influenced by the military.  She said they  came to her on their own.

“Giuban nako sila tungod sa kaluoy sa mga tao nga dugay nang gahandum sa ilang iyaan.  (I brought them along  due to mercy to individuals who have been longing to see their aunt),” Libayao explained.

She also discredited those NGOs  which, she said, had disinformed Bibyaon whom they had made to  believe about alleged gold-mining at the Pantaron Range within  Talaingod area.

“Bisan adtuon ninyo sa Pantaron, wala moy makita dira; so puros bakak ang ilang gi-dikta kay Bibyaon.  (Even if you have to go Pantaron, you would not find there; so they were dictating lies to Bibyaon.),” she said.   (Jeanevive Duron Abangan/PIA XI)
