Barangayanihan Caravan in Davao Region launched at B.E. Dujali






DAVAO CITY, Sept. 30 The Presidential Communications Operations Office (PCOO), along with the Department of the Interior and Local Government (DILG) and the Philippine National Police (PNP), launched the “Duterte Legacy: Barangayanihan Caravan Towards National Recovery” here at the municipal gymnasium in Braulio E. Dujali, Davao del Norte bringing the services of the government to the Filipino people. 
 
According to Communications Secretary Martin M. Andanar, since President Rodrigo Roa Duterte assumed office in 2016, his agenda of Tapang at Malasakit" resulted in a chain of positive changes in the Philippines, from the reduction of crime incidents, corruption, and other societal ills to the clearing of barangays from drugs and even from local communist armed conflict. 
 
Through the "Tapang and Malasakit" agenda, President Duterte institutionalize good governance in our government to which all agencies of adhere to, and this is seen with the launching of the ‘Duterte Legacy: Barangayanihan Caravan, a collaboration of government agencies, as well as volunteers from the Global Coalition of Lingkod Bayan Advocacy Support Groups and Force Multipliers. 
 
This campaign aims to inform the public about the government's programs, policies, accomplishments, and efforts to bring about real change to the lives of the Filipino people by showcasing real stories from the beneficiaries in their respective localities of the administration's landmark policies and programs -- a legacy and embodiment of our President's Whole-of Nation Approach. 
 
Further, the caravan intends to bring the basic services of the government to the grassroots level and offers on-ground activities for the participants.
 
Braulio E. Dujali Mayor Leah Marie Moral-Romano said that showcasing the Duterte Legacy is an honor and the hosting of the historic event is a pride of every Dujaleño.
 
Mayor Romano said the town and its residents were recipients of the many concrete legacies of the Duterte aministration
 
“Over the course of five years we have seen the significant accomplishments of President Duterte, for one the notable anti-drug war, the malasakit centers, the zero billing in the public hospitals, the certified seeds, fertilizers from the RCEF (Rice Competitiveness Enhancement Fund) given to the farmers and of course the Build, Build, Build program which this town has essentially benefited from,” Mayor Romano said.
 
Also present during the event were beneficiaries from different government programs who shared their experiences on the programs that made a significant impact in their lives.
 
Jemuel Glaban, 49 was a former fisherman who applied for a TESDA (Technical Education Skills Development Authority) Training for Work Scholarship Program on organic agriculture and farm machinery operations. Currently he is working as an employed farm supervisor and is enjoying a more stable income.

“Dili stable ang panagat, lisod siya, usahay naa,usahay wala. Karon nahatagan nako ug nindot na kinabuhi ang akong pamilya tungod ni sa program sa TESDA, (Fishing is not stable, it is difficult, sometimes you earn sometimes you don’t, now I can give a beautiful life to my family because of the TESDA program)” Glaban said.

 

With his earnings from organic agriculture he was able to buy as house and lot, a vehicle and a little savings.

 

During the simultaneous nationwide event, partner government agencies also put up their One-Stop Shop "Serbisyo Caravan"

 

The Serbisyo Caravan participating agencies' included the Social Security System (SSS), Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH), Department of Trade and Industry (DTI), Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE), TESDA, Department of Health (DOH),  Department of Agriculture (DA), Philippine National Police, Department of Agrarian Reform (DAR), and the National Commission on the Indigenous People (NCIP).

Services for jobseekers, medical outreach, consultations, license/permit applications were made available among the different participating agencies and government offices during the caravan.
 
The launching of the caravan is just the beginning, as the Duterte Legacy Caravan will be knocking on the doors of the different cities, municipalities and even barangays nationwide to make sure that the Duterte Legacy is experienced by every Filipino. (PCOO with reports from RG Alama)

DOH XI hires more nurses, doctors

DAVAO CITY, September 6 (PIA) – The Department of Health XI bared its emergency hiring for nurses and doctors following the need to augment the personnel requirement of COVID19 hospitals from all over the region. The head of the DOH XI Epidemiology and Surveillance Unit Dr. Rachel Pasion, in today’s DOH Virtual Presser reported that in Davao City alone combining both the COVID19 hospitals and the private hospitals have utilized 674 COVID19 beds out of the 830 beds or 79.4 utilization rate. This brings the region’s critical care utilization at a high risk level. The Southern Philippine Medical Center, in the past few days, released an advisory informing the public that it has been experiencing an unusually high volume of patients needing admission for COVID19. Mati City releases new tricycle fare guidelines

DAVAO ORIENTAL, Apr. 6 (PIA) -- The City Government of Mati has issued a new set of tricycle fare guidelines due to the increase in gasoline prices over the past weeks.   Under the City Ordinance No. 527 Series of 2022 or the "Ordinance Imposing the Regulation of Fare and Motorized  Tricycle-for-Hire in the City of Mati," the minimum fares are peg on the prevailing fuel prices. If the gasoline prices would hover at P40.00 to P49.99 per liter the minimum fare would be pegged at P9.00. If fuel prices are at P50.00 to P69.99/liter, minimum fare would be at P12.00 The current minimum fare is now P14.00 as the price of gasoline is between P70.00 to P89.99 per liter.   If the gasoline increase would go from P90.00 to P99.00/liter, the minimum fare will be P15.00. The price of gasoline is not the only indicator of the passenger's fare.
